Cyber Security Vulnerability Lead
We are seeking an experienced Cyber Security Vulnerability Lead to strengthen and coordinate vulnerability management across a complex technology environment. You will lead the identification, assessment, prioritisation and remediation of security vulnerabilities affecting infrastructure, applications, cloud services, endpoints and third-party platforms. Working closely with security operations, technology, architecture, engineering and risk teams, you will help reduce cyber risk and ensure vulnerabilities are managed consistently, transparently and within agreed timescales.
Your responsibilities will include owning the vulnerability management framework, policies, standards and operating procedures; overseeing regular vulnerability scanning and validation activities; analysing findings from automated tools, penetration tests, threat intelligence and security assessments; and prioritising remediation based on exploitability, business criticality, exposure and emerging threats. You will track remediation plans, challenge overdue actions, provide clear risk-based reporting to senior stakeholders and support exception and risk-acceptance processes. The role will also involve developing meaningful metrics and dashboards, identifying recurring weaknesses, supporting vulnerability disclosure and incident response activities, and contributing to continuous improvements in security controls and processes.
You will bring substantial experience in vulnerability management, cyber security assurance or a closely related discipline, together with a strong understanding of common vulnerabilities, attack techniques, security testing methodologies and remediation practices. Experience with vulnerability scanning and risk management platforms, cloud technologies, application security and infrastructure security is highly desirable. You should be confident interpreting technical findings and translating them into practical business risks and actionable recommendations for both technical and non-technical audiences. Strong stakeholder management, communication, influencing and organisational skills are essential, as is the ability to work independently while coordinating activity across multiple teams. Relevant professional certifications in cyber security, vulnerability management, penetration testing or risk are advantageous.
