Security Analyst II
We are seeking a Security Analyst II to support the protection of systems, networks and information against cyber threats. This role will monitor security events, investigate potential incidents and help strengthen the organisation’s overall security posture. You will work closely with technology, risk and operational teams to identify vulnerabilities, respond to emerging threats and promote effective security practices.
Key responsibilities will include reviewing alerts from security monitoring tools, analysing logs and network activity, and investigating suspected incidents in line with established procedures. You will assist with incident containment, remediation and post-incident reviews, ensuring that findings are accurately documented and communicated to relevant stakeholders. The role will also involve supporting vulnerability assessments, tracking remediation activity and helping to maintain security standards across applications, infrastructure and cloud environments.
You will contribute to the development and maintenance of security processes, playbooks and technical documentation. You may also support access reviews, security assessments, audit activity and the evaluation of new technologies or controls. A proactive approach to threat intelligence will be important, including researching relevant vulnerabilities and advising colleagues on practical risk-reduction measures. You will be expected to identify opportunities to improve monitoring, automate repeatable tasks and enhance incident response capabilities.
Applicants should have experience in a security operations, cyber security or related technical role, with a sound understanding of security monitoring, incident response, vulnerability management and common attack techniques. Familiarity with SIEM platforms, endpoint protection, network security technologies and cloud-based environments is desirable. Relevant certifications or equivalent practical experience will be advantageous.
You should be analytical, organised and confident in assessing complex information under pressure. Clear written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with the ability to explain technical risks to both specialist and non-specialist audiences. The successful candidate will demonstrate sound judgement, attention to detail, a commitment to continuous learning and the ability to work collaboratively while managing competing priorities.
