Cyber Security Consultant
We are seeking an experienced Cyber Security Consultant to help organisations identify, manage and reduce information security risks across complex technology environments. This is an opportunity to provide trusted advice, deliver practical security improvements and support clients through changing regulatory, operational and threat landscapes.
You will work with stakeholders at all levels to understand business objectives, assess current security capabilities and develop proportionate recommendations. Your responsibilities will include conducting risk assessments, security reviews and compliance gap analyses; designing security policies, standards and procedures; and supporting the implementation of effective controls. You will also contribute to security architecture reviews, incident preparedness, vulnerability management and third-party risk assessments.
The role will involve producing clear reports, presentations and remediation plans for both technical and non-technical audiences. You will be expected to communicate complex security issues confidently, manage competing priorities and build strong working relationships with clients, delivery teams and senior decision-makers. You may also support bids, proposals, workshops and the development of internal security methodologies and best practice.
Applicants should have professional experience in cyber security, information assurance, risk management or a closely related discipline. A solid understanding of security frameworks and standards such as ISO 27001, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, CIS Controls or COBIT is essential. Experience of areas including cloud security, identity and access management, secure development, data protection, governance, risk and compliance, or security operations would be advantageous.
Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, ISO 27001 Lead Implementer or Lead Auditor, or equivalent practical experience, are welcomed. You should demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent written and verbal communication, and the ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team. A professional, consultative approach and a commitment to continuous learning are essential.
This role may require occasional travel and the ability to obtain appropriate security clearance. In return, you will have the opportunity to work on varied assignments, broaden your technical and advisory expertise, and make a measurable contribution to improving cyber resilience.
