OT Cyber Security Consultant
We are seeking an experienced OT Cyber Security Consultant to help organisations strengthen the security and resilience of their operational technology environments. This is an opportunity to work across critical infrastructure, manufacturing, utilities and other industrial settings, supporting clients as they manage evolving cyber threats while maintaining safe, reliable and continuous operations.
You will assess OT and industrial control system environments, identify vulnerabilities and security risks, and develop practical improvement plans aligned with business and operational requirements. Responsibilities will include conducting cyber security assessments, reviewing network architectures, supporting security monitoring and incident response activities, and advising on secure design, segmentation, access control and asset management. You will also contribute to risk assessments, gap analyses, policies, standards and client reports, presenting findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
The role will involve working closely with engineering, IT, risk and operational teams, as well as helping clients understand and apply relevant industry standards and regulations. You may support the development of incident response and disaster recovery plans, deliver workshops and awareness sessions, and provide guidance throughout the lifecycle of OT security improvement programmes. A consultative approach and the ability to translate complex technical issues into practical business recommendations are essential.
Applicants should have demonstrable experience in OT, ICS or industrial cyber security, with knowledge of technologies such as SCADA, DCS, PLCs, industrial networks and related communication protocols. Familiarity with recognised frameworks and standards, including IEC 62443, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, NIS2 or ISO 27001, would be advantageous. Experience of vulnerability management, threat modelling, penetration testing, security architecture or incident response within operational environments is desirable.
You will be a confident communicator with strong analytical, report-writing and stakeholder management skills. The role may involve travel to client and operational sites, so flexibility and a willingness to work in varied environments are required. Relevant professional certifications, such as GICSP, GRID, CISSP, CISM or equivalent, would be welcomed, although practical experience and sound judgement are equally valued.
