Offensive Security Engineer
We are seeking an Offensive Security Engineer to identify, assess and help remediate security weaknesses across applications, infrastructure, cloud environments and corporate systems. You will work closely with engineering, architecture and security teams to simulate realistic attacks, strengthen defensive controls and reduce organisational risk.
Your responsibilities will include planning and delivering penetration tests, red-team exercises, vulnerability assessments and adversary simulations. You will conduct technical reconnaissance, exploit weaknesses safely and document clear, evidence-based findings. You will also validate remediation work, track risks through to resolution and provide practical recommendations that improve security without unnecessarily disrupting delivery.
The role will involve testing web applications, APIs, mobile applications, networks, operating systems, identity platforms and cloud services. You will be expected to develop or adapt scripts, tooling and proof-of-concept exploits where appropriate, while maintaining strong operational discipline and respecting agreed rules of engagement. You may also contribute to threat modelling, secure design reviews, incident investigations and the development of security testing standards.
We are looking for demonstrable experience in offensive security, penetration testing or a closely related technical security role. You should have a strong understanding of common attack techniques, vulnerability classes and security frameworks, including OWASP methodologies and the MITRE ATT&CK framework. Practical experience with tools such as Burp Suite, Nmap, Metasploit, cloud security tooling or equivalent is desirable, alongside the ability to script in languages such as Python, PowerShell or Bash.
Relevant professional certifications, such as OSCP, CREST or equivalent qualifications, are advantageous but not essential. You will need excellent communication and report-writing skills, sound judgement, curiosity and the ability to explain complex technical issues to both specialist and non-specialist audiences. A responsible, collaborative approach and commitment to ethical testing are essential.
This is an opportunity to influence security maturity, work on varied and technically challenging engagements, and help build resilient systems in an environment that values continuous learning and constructive challenge.
