Security Consulting Practitioner
We are seeking a Security Consulting Practitioner to support clients in understanding, managing and improving their information and cyber security. This is an opportunity to work across a varied portfolio of assignments, helping organisations identify risks, strengthen controls and meet relevant regulatory and industry requirements.
You will contribute to security assessments, risk reviews and maturity evaluations, gathering information from stakeholders and analysing processes, systems and control environments. You will help develop practical recommendations, security strategies, policies, standards and improvement plans, presenting findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
The role will involve supporting the delivery of consulting engagements from planning through to completion. Responsibilities may include conducting interviews and workshops, documenting risks and controls, reviewing security governance arrangements, assisting with audit and compliance activities, and producing accurate, high-quality reports and client deliverables. You will also help monitor emerging threats, technologies and good practice, applying relevant frameworks and methodologies to each assignment.
Applicants should have experience in information security, cyber security, risk management, governance, compliance or a related consulting environment. A sound understanding of security principles and frameworks, such as ISO 27001, NIST or CIS Controls, is desirable. You should be confident analysing complex information, identifying areas for improvement and translating technical issues into clear business recommendations.
Strong communication, organisation and stakeholder management skills are essential, along with the ability to manage competing priorities and work collaboratively. You will need to demonstrate sound judgement, attention to detail and a professional approach to handling confidential information. Relevant qualifications, such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, ISO 27001 or equivalent experience, would be advantageous.
This role offers the chance to broaden your consulting experience, work on challenging security initiatives and make a tangible contribution to clients’ resilience and risk management. Flexible working arrangements may be available, with occasional travel or attendance at client sites depending on engagement requirements.
