Graduate Engineer – Cyber, Software & AI/ML
Graduate Engineer – Cyber, Software & AI/ML. An exciting opportunity is available for a motivated graduate to begin a career working across cyber security, software engineering and artificial intelligence. You will join a collaborative technical team, developing practical solutions to complex challenges while gaining exposure to a range of projects, tools and engineering disciplines.
In this role, you may contribute to the design, development and testing of secure software applications, data-processing pipelines and machine-learning models. Responsibilities may include analysing technical requirements, writing clean and maintainable code, supporting system integration, investigating defects and documenting solutions. You will also help identify cyber security risks, apply secure development principles, review vulnerabilities and support the implementation of appropriate controls.
You will work alongside experienced engineers and technical specialists, taking part in design reviews, team meetings and continuous improvement activities. Depending on project requirements, you may assist with the development of automation, cloud-based services, artificial intelligence capabilities or analytical tools. A willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to changing priorities will be important, as will the ability to communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical colleagues.
Applicants should have, or be expecting to achieve, a degree in computer science, software engineering, cyber security, artificial intelligence, mathematics, physics or a related STEM subject. Some programming experience in languages such as Python, Java, C#, C++ or JavaScript is desirable, along with an interest in secure coding, data science, machine learning or systems engineering. Knowledge of version control, testing practices, networking, operating systems or cloud technologies would be advantageous.
You should be curious, analytical and proactive, with strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to delivering high-quality work. Previous commercial experience is not essential; academic projects, placements, personal development or relevant certifications will be valued. Successful applicants will be required to meet any applicable security and eligibility requirements.
