We are seeking a motivated Graduate Security Engineer to join a collaborative technical team and develop a career in cyber and information security. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or an individual with relevant placement or internship experience to gain practical exposure across security engineering, monitoring, vulnerability management and incident response. You will work alongside experienced colleagues to help protect systems, applications, networks and data against evolving threats.

Your responsibilities will include supporting the implementation and maintenance of security controls, reviewing alerts and investigating potential incidents, assisting with vulnerability assessments and recommending appropriate remediation. You will help monitor security tools, contribute to access reviews, maintain accurate technical documentation and support the development of secure configurations and operating procedures. You may also assist with security testing, audit preparation, risk assessments and the delivery of awareness activities. The role will involve working with infrastructure, software development and operational teams, so you will need to communicate clearly and build effective relationships with both technical and non-technical colleagues.

You should have, or be expecting, a degree in cyber security, computer science, information technology or a related subject, together with a genuine interest in protecting technology and information. An understanding of networking, operating systems, authentication, encryption and common cyber threats would be beneficial. Familiarity with security frameworks, vulnerability scanners, log analysis or scripting languages such as Python would be advantageous, but full training will be provided. We are looking for someone analytical, organised and eager to learn, with strong problem-solving skills and a responsible approach to handling sensitive information. You should be willing to work collaboratively, ask questions and continually develop your technical knowledge. Relevant certifications or practical projects may be helpful, but enthusiasm and potential are equally important.
