Graduate Vehicle Cyber Security Engineer
We are seeking a Graduate Vehicle Cyber Security Engineer to join a technically focused team developing secure, connected and intelligent vehicle systems. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to build practical experience in automotive cyber security while contributing to projects that support the safety, resilience and compliance of future mobility solutions.
Working alongside experienced engineers, you will help assess cyber security risks across vehicle systems, electronic control units, communication networks and connected services. Your responsibilities will include supporting threat analysis and risk assessments, identifying potential vulnerabilities, reviewing security requirements and assisting with the development of appropriate mitigation strategies.
You will contribute to security assurance activities throughout the vehicle development lifecycle, from initial concept and architecture through to testing and validation. This may include assisting with penetration testing, analysing test results, documenting findings, supporting incident investigations and helping to verify that security controls meet defined requirements. You will also help maintain technical documentation and contribute to reports, presentations and project reviews.
The successful candidate will have, or be working towards, a degree in cyber security, computer science, electronic engineering, automotive engineering or a related discipline. An understanding of information security principles, networking, embedded systems or software development would be beneficial. Familiarity with risk assessment methods, secure development practices, vehicle communication protocols or relevant automotive cyber security standards is desirable, but full training will be provided.
You should be analytical, curious and keen to understand how complex technical systems operate. Strong problem-solving and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to work collaboratively and explain technical issues clearly to both technical and non-technical colleagues. You will need a methodical approach, good attention to detail and the motivation to continue developing your knowledge in a rapidly evolving field.
This role offers structured development, mentoring and the opportunity to work on challenging projects at the intersection of automotive engineering and cyber security. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK and be willing to meet any applicable security or background-check requirements.
