We are seeking an experienced Associate Director, Cyber Security Operations Architect to lead the design and evolution of robust security operations capabilities across a complex and changing technology environment. This is a strategic role for a security professional who can combine architectural thinking with practical operational delivery, helping to protect critical services, information and users from an evolving threat landscape.
You will define and maintain the target architecture for cyber security operations, covering security monitoring, incident response, threat intelligence, vulnerability management, identity protection, endpoint security and security orchestration. Working closely with technology, risk, compliance and business stakeholders, you will translate security objectives into scalable designs, operating models, roadmaps and actionable technical requirements.
The role will involve assessing existing capabilities, identifying control gaps and recommending improvements that enhance detection, investigation, response and recovery. You will provide technical leadership for the selection and integration of security platforms, ensuring that solutions are resilient, appropriately governed and aligned with recognised security frameworks and regulatory expectations. You will also oversee architectural assurance for major technology programmes and support the development of secure-by-design principles.
As a senior contributor, you will influence decision-making at all levels, present complex security concepts clearly and build effective relationships with internal teams, suppliers and senior stakeholders. You will help establish standards, patterns and performance measures for security operations, while coaching colleagues and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
Applicants should have substantial experience in cyber security operations, security architecture or a closely related discipline, together with a strong understanding of modern threat detection and response practices. You will bring knowledge of SIEM, SOAR, EDR, cloud security, network security, identity and access management, vulnerability management and security service integration. Experience of developing security strategies, operating models and technical roadmaps is essential, as is the ability to balance risk, cost, usability and delivery constraints.
Relevant professional certifications or equivalent experience are desirable. Above all, you will be a collaborative and decisive leader with excellent communication skills, sound judgement and a passion for strengthening organisational resilience.
