Associate Director, OT & Cybersecurity
We are seeking an experienced Associate Director, OT & Cybersecurity to lead the development and delivery of security strategies across operational technology environments. This role will be responsible for protecting critical infrastructure, industrial control systems, connected devices and manufacturing technologies against evolving cyber threats, while supporting safe, reliable and efficient operations. You will work closely with technology, engineering, operations, risk, compliance and business stakeholders to embed cybersecurity into the design, implementation and ongoing management of OT systems.
Key responsibilities will include defining and maintaining the OT cybersecurity strategy, governance framework, policies, standards and procedures; overseeing risk assessments, vulnerability management, threat monitoring, incident response and security improvement programmes; and ensuring appropriate controls are implemented across the OT lifecycle. You will provide subject-matter expertise for architecture reviews, system upgrades, network segmentation, access management, secure remote connectivity and third-party risk management. The role will also lead audits, regulatory assessments and remediation activities, while developing meaningful metrics and reporting for senior leadership. You will help establish resilient processes for identifying, containing and recovering from cyber incidents affecting operational environments.
The successful candidate will bring significant experience in OT, industrial cybersecurity, information security or a related discipline, with a strong understanding of ICS, SCADA, DCS, PLC and network technologies. Professional experience within complex, highly regulated or safety-critical environments is highly desirable. You should be confident interpreting recognised security frameworks and standards, such as NIST, IEC 62443 and ISO 27001, and translating them into practical, risk-based controls. Strong leadership, stakeholder management and communication skills are essential, alongside the ability to influence at executive level and collaborate effectively with technical and operational teams. Relevant qualifications in cybersecurity, engineering, technology or risk management are preferred, as are recognised professional certifications.
