Internal Red Team Consultant
We are seeking an experienced Internal Red Team Consultant to help assess and strengthen the resilience of our people, processes, applications, infrastructure, and physical environments. You will plan and deliver realistic, controlled adversary simulations that identify weaknesses before they can be exploited by genuine threat actors. Working closely with security, technology, risk, and business stakeholders, you will translate technical findings into clear, actionable recommendations that improve defensive capability and reduce organisational risk.
Your responsibilities will include developing engagement plans, threat models, rules of engagement, and test scenarios; conducting covert and overt assessments across cloud, on-premises, endpoint, identity, network, application, and physical security environments; and using a range of red team, penetration testing, social engineering, and open-source intelligence techniques. You will safely manage campaigns from reconnaissance through exploitation, post-compromise activity, objective completion, and evidence collection. You will also validate detection and response capabilities, collaborate with blue and purple teams, produce high-quality reports for technical and executive audiences, and support remediation reviews and retesting. Maintaining accurate documentation, protecting sensitive information, and ensuring all activities comply with legal, ethical, and internal governance requirements will be essential.
You will have proven experience in red teaming, penetration testing, security consulting, or a closely related discipline, with a strong understanding of attack frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK and the ability to develop custom tooling or scripts in languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash. Experience with Active Directory, cloud platforms, web applications, adversary emulation, identity attacks, and defensive control validation is highly desirable. Relevant professional certifications, such as CREST, OSCP, OSEP, CRTO, GXPN, or equivalent practical experience, are beneficial. Strong communication, sound judgement, curiosity, and the ability to operate independently while building trusted relationships are essential. A commitment to responsible testing, continuous learning, and sharing knowledge across the security community is expected.
