We are seeking a Cyber Operations Analyst to support the monitoring, detection, investigation and response to cyber security incidents across a complex technology environment. The successful candidate will contribute to the protection of systems, networks, applications and data by analysing security events, identifying suspicious activity and helping to reduce operational risk. This role is suited to an analytical and proactive professional who can work effectively in a fast-paced environment and communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities will include monitoring security alerts and event logs using security information and event management tools; investigating potential incidents and escalating issues in line with established procedures; supporting incident response, containment, eradication and recovery activities; undertaking threat hunting and vulnerability reviews; and contributing to the development of detection rules, playbooks and operational processes. You will maintain accurate records of investigations, prepare incident and trend reports, support audit and compliance requirements, and work with infrastructure, applications and service teams to implement appropriate remediation. The role may also involve participation in an on-call or out-of-hours rota.

Applicants should have practical experience in cyber security operations, incident analysis, security monitoring or a related discipline, together with a sound understanding of common attack techniques, networking, endpoint security, identity and access management, and cloud or hybrid environments. Experience with SIEM, endpoint detection and response, vulnerability management or ticketing platforms is desirable. Relevant professional certifications or equivalent hands-on experience would be advantageous. You will need strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, sound judgement and the ability to prioritise competing tasks. A commitment to continuous learning, collaborative working and the secure handling of sensitive information is essential.
