We are seeking a skilled SOC Level 2 Security Analyst to investigate and respond to complex cybersecurity incidents within a fast-paced security operations environment. The successful candidate will monitor security alerts, validate potential threats, conduct detailed investigations, and determine the scope, impact, and priority of incidents. You will analyse data from SIEM, endpoint detection and response, network monitoring, identity, and vulnerability management platforms to identify malicious activity and support timely containment.

Key responsibilities include triaging escalated alerts, correlating events across multiple data sources, performing threat hunting, and developing incident timelines and root-cause assessments. You will coordinate containment, eradication, and recovery activities with internal technology teams, while maintaining accurate case documentation and meeting agreed service levels. The role also involves tuning detection rules, reducing false positives, improving playbooks, and contributing to the development of automated response processes. You may support forensic evidence collection, vulnerability investigations, threat intelligence assessments, and post-incident reviews to help strengthen the organisation’s overall security posture.

Applicants should have practical experience in a security operations centre, incident response, or a closely related cybersecurity role, with a strong understanding of security monitoring and defensive technologies. Knowledge of common attack techniques, MITRE ATT&CK, phishing, malware, identity compromise, network security, and cloud environments is highly desirable. Experience with SIEM query languages, endpoint investigation, scripting, and security automation will be advantageous. Relevant industry certifications such as Security+, CySA+, GCIH, GCIA, or equivalent are beneficial. You should be analytical, methodical, and confident communicating technical findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. The ability to work collaboratively, manage competing priorities, participate in an on-call rota, and remain calm during high-impact incidents is essential.
