The role involves validating suspected threats, determining scope and impact, performing detailed root-cause analysis, and coordinating appropriate containment, eradication, and recovery activities. You will also escalate critical incidents when required and provide clear, timely updates to relevant technical and business stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include conducting advanced analysis of logs, network traffic, malware behaviour, and suspicious user or system activity; developing and refining detection rules, playbooks, and investigation procedures; and supporting threat hunting activities to identify indicators of compromise and previously undetected threats. You will maintain accurate incident records, produce post-incident reports, recommend improvements to security controls, and contribute to vulnerability management, security monitoring enhancements, and continuous improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will work closely with infrastructure, cloud, identity, and incident response teams while helping to mentor junior analysts and strengthen operational processes.

Applicants should have proven experience in a security operations or incident response environment, with strong knowledge of common attack techniques, threat intelligence, digital forensics principles, and frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK. Experience using SIEM, EDR, vulnerability management, case management, and cloud security platforms is highly desirable. You should be comfortable with investigative scripting, preferably using PowerShell or Python, and able to interpret Windows and Linux events, authentication records, endpoint telemetry, and network data. Relevant certifications such as Security+, CySA+, GCIH, GCIA, or equivalent practical experience are advantageous. Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills, sound judgement, and a willingness to participate in an on-call rotation are essential.
