Senior Security Architect
We are seeking an experienced Senior Security Architect to define and strengthen security architecture across a complex technology environment. This is a strategic role for a confident security professional who can translate business objectives and evolving threats into practical, resilient security solutions. You will work with technical and business stakeholders to ensure that security is embedded throughout the design, delivery and operation of products, services and infrastructure.
You will establish and maintain security architecture principles, patterns, standards and roadmaps, ensuring alignment with business priorities and regulatory obligations. Responsibilities will include assessing proposed solutions, identifying risks and recommending proportionate controls across cloud, on-premises, applications, data, networks and end-user technologies. You will also support architectural governance, security reviews, threat modelling, risk assessments and the development of secure-by-design practices.
The role will involve collaborating with engineering, infrastructure, development, risk and compliance teams, as well as communicating complex security matters clearly to senior stakeholders. You will provide technical leadership during major change and transformation initiatives, contribute to incident response and remediation planning, and help shape security policies, reference architectures and operating procedures. You will also mentor colleagues and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
Applicants should have substantial experience in security architecture, cyber security engineering or a closely related discipline, with a strong understanding of enterprise security principles and risk management. Experience designing secure cloud services, identity and access management, network security, application security and data protection controls is essential. Familiarity with recognised frameworks and standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, CIS Controls or SABSA would be advantageous.
Strong analytical, influencing and communication skills are required, alongside the ability to balance security, usability, cost and delivery priorities. Relevant professional certifications, such as CISSP, CISM, SABSA or a cloud security qualification, are desirable. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by shaping a robust, forward-looking security capability within a collaborative and technically progressive environment.
