Director, Controls and Technology Risk Intelligence
We are seeking a Director, Controls and Technology Risk Intelligence to lead the development of a forward-looking view of technology, cyber and control risks across a complex organisation. This senior role will translate emerging threats, regulatory developments and operational trends into clear intelligence that supports informed decision-making and strengthens the overall risk management framework.
You will define and deliver a strategic programme of risk intelligence, bringing together data from control assessments, technology risk reviews, cyber incidents, audit activity, threat intelligence and external sources. You will identify trends, systemic issues and emerging vulnerabilities, assess their potential business impact, and provide concise, insightful reporting to senior leadership and relevant governance committees.
Key responsibilities will include establishing a consistent methodology for controls and technology risk intelligence; developing dashboards, metrics and management information; overseeing thematic reviews and horizon-scanning activity; and ensuring that findings are converted into practical remediation, investment and resilience priorities. You will work closely with technology, cyber security, compliance, internal audit, operational risk and business teams to improve the quality, consistency and timeliness of risk information.
The successful candidate will have substantial experience in technology risk, information security, operational resilience, controls, audit or a closely related discipline, gained within a complex and regulated environment. You will understand control frameworks, risk and control self-assessments, issue management, key risk indicators and technology governance, with the ability to interpret technical information and communicate its implications to non-technical stakeholders.
Strong strategic thinking, analytical capability and influencing skills are essential. You will be comfortable challenging established views, presenting to senior audiences and operating effectively where information is incomplete or rapidly changing. Experience leading specialist teams, managing senior stakeholders and delivering data-driven risk reporting or intelligence programmes would be highly desirable. Relevant professional qualifications in risk, audit, cyber security, technology or information systems are advantageous.
