Cyber Audit Consultant
We are seeking a Cyber Audit Consultant to assess, challenge and improve the effectiveness of information security controls across a range of technology environments. This role will involve working with stakeholders at all levels to provide independent assurance over cyber risk, regulatory compliance and the resilience of critical systems.
You will plan and deliver cyber and information security audits, from scoping and risk assessment through to reporting and follow-up. Responsibilities will include reviewing security policies and procedures, evaluating governance frameworks, testing technical and operational controls, and assessing areas such as identity and access management, vulnerability management, incident response, cloud security, data protection and third-party risk.
The successful candidate will produce clear, evidence-based audit findings and practical recommendations, communicating risks and control weaknesses to both technical and non-technical audiences. You will work with control owners to agree appropriate remediation plans, monitor progress and validate that corrective actions have been implemented effectively. The role may also involve supporting internal reviews, regulatory engagements and cyber risk assessments.
Applicants should have experience in cyber security auditing, technology risk, information security or a closely related discipline. You will need a sound understanding of recognised frameworks and standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, COBIT or CIS Controls, together with knowledge of relevant data protection and cyber security regulations. Experience auditing cloud platforms, security operations, network controls or supplier environments would be advantageous.
Strong analytical, report-writing and stakeholder management skills are essential, as is the ability to work independently while managing competing priorities. A relevant professional qualification, such as CISA, CISSP, CRISC, CIA or an equivalent certification, would be beneficial. You should be curious, commercially aware and confident in constructively challenging existing practices to help strengthen cyber resilience.
