Cyber Security Consultant
We are seeking a Cyber Security Consultant to provide expert advice and practical support across a range of information security projects. You will work with stakeholders at all levels to assess cyber risks, develop proportionate controls and help strengthen security across systems, applications and business processes.
Your responsibilities will include conducting security assessments, threat and vulnerability reviews, risk analyses and maturity evaluations. You will produce clear reports and recommendations, support the design and implementation of security controls, and contribute to the development of policies, standards and procedures. You will also advise on security architecture, cloud environments, identity and access management, incident response and regulatory compliance.
The role will involve managing multiple assignments, working collaboratively with technical and non-technical colleagues, and translating complex security issues into practical business advice. You may also support client engagement, workshops, audits, assurance activities and the delivery of security improvement programmes. A strong focus on quality, professional integrity and continuous improvement is essential.
Applicants should have proven experience in cyber security, information security, risk management or a related consultancy environment. You will have a sound understanding of common security frameworks and standards, such as ISO 27001, the NIST Cybersecurity Framework, CIS Controls or equivalent. Experience across areas including penetration testing, security operations, governance, risk and compliance, cloud security or secure development would be advantageous.
Strong analytical, communication and report-writing skills are required, together with the ability to build trusted relationships and explain technical concepts clearly. Relevant professional qualifications, such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, CRISC or CREST credentials, are desirable. You should be organised, commercially aware and comfortable working independently while contributing effectively to a wider team.
