You will work alongside experienced analysts to help protect systems, networks and data from emerging cyber threats.

Your responsibilities will include monitoring security alerts and events through security information and event management (SIEM) platforms, investigating unusual activity and escalating potential incidents in line with established procedures. You will assist with triage, evidence gathering, incident documentation and the preparation of clear, accurate reports. The role will also involve reviewing threat intelligence, supporting vulnerability and security assessment activities, maintaining operational records and contributing to improvements in monitoring rules, playbooks and response processes. You may be required to participate in a shift-based rota, including occasional out-of-hours support.

Applicants should have, or be working towards, a degree or equivalent qualification in cyber security, computer science, information technology or a related subject. A genuine interest in cyber security, networking, operating systems and common attack techniques is essential. Familiarity with SIEM tools, endpoint security, log analysis, scripting or cloud technologies would be advantageous, although full training will be provided. You should demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent written and verbal communication, careful attention to detail and the ability to remain calm when handling potential incidents. A willingness to learn, follow documented procedures and work collaboratively is equally important.
