Security Consultant – Risk & Resilience - Financial Services
We are seeking a Security Consultant – Risk & Resilience to support financial services clients in identifying, managing and reducing technology, information and operational security risks. This role will involve working with stakeholders across business, technology, risk and compliance functions to assess current capabilities, identify vulnerabilities and develop practical strategies that strengthen organisational resilience. You will contribute to projects covering cyber security, operational resilience, business continuity, third-party risk, incident response and regulatory compliance.
Key responsibilities will include conducting security and resilience assessments; developing risk registers, control frameworks, policies and improvement roadmaps; supporting threat, vulnerability and impact assessments; and advising on appropriate mitigation measures. You will help clients prepare for, respond to and recover from disruptive events, including cyber incidents and technology failures. The role will also involve reviewing suppliers and critical services, facilitating workshops, producing clear reports for senior stakeholders and supporting the implementation of recommendations. You may contribute to business development through proposal writing, client presentations and the development of innovative approaches to security and resilience challenges.
The successful candidate will have experience in security consulting, risk management, operational resilience, business continuity, cyber security or a related discipline, ideally within financial services or another highly regulated environment. You should understand relevant risk and security principles, governance frameworks and regulatory expectations, and be comfortable translating complex technical issues into clear business advice. Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills are essential, together with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively both independently and as part of a consulting team. Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, CBCI, MBCI or equivalent would be advantageous. A proactive, commercially aware approach and a commitment to delivering high-quality client outcomes are also important.
