We are seeking a Vulnerability Management Engineer to help identify, assess, prioritise, and reduce security weaknesses across a complex technology environment. In this role, you will support the full vulnerability management lifecycle, from discovery and validation through remediation, reporting, and risk acceptance. You will work closely with infrastructure, cloud, application, endpoint, and operations teams to ensure vulnerabilities are addressed in line with defined service levels and business priorities.

Your responsibilities will include configuring and maintaining vulnerability scanning and assessment tools; developing authenticated and unauthenticated scan policies; analysing results to remove false positives and identify meaningful risk; and producing clear reports for technical and non-technical stakeholders. You will track remediation activities, investigate recurring weaknesses, and help establish practical mitigation plans where immediate remediation is not possible. The role will also involve supporting penetration testing activities, validating fixes, contributing to vulnerability disclosure processes, and improving asset discovery, risk scoring, and vulnerability prioritisation methods.

The successful candidate will have practical experience in vulnerability management, security assessment, or a closely related cybersecurity discipline. You should understand common vulnerabilities and exposures, CVSS, patch management, secure configuration principles, and the risks associated with network, endpoint, cloud, and web application technologies. Experience with tools such as Tenable, Qualys, Rapid7, Microsoft Defender, or comparable platforms is desirable, along with the ability to interpret scan data and work with scripting or automation tools such as PowerShell or Python. Strong communication, organisation, analytical thinking, and stakeholder management skills are essential. Relevant certifications such as Security+, SSCP, CEH, GIAC, or equivalent professional experience would be advantageous.
