Cyber Security Consultant
We are seeking an experienced Cyber Security Consultant to help organisations strengthen their security posture, manage risk, and respond effectively to an evolving threat landscape. In this role, you will work closely with clients and internal stakeholders to understand business objectives, assess current controls, and develop practical, risk-based security solutions. You will contribute across the full consulting lifecycle, from discovery and analysis through to implementation, assurance, and continuous improvement.
Your responsibilities will include conducting security assessments, gap analyses, risk assessments, and reviews of technical and organisational controls. You will develop clear reports, recommendations, policies, procedures, and remediation plans for both technical and non-technical audiences. You may also support security architecture reviews, vulnerability management, incident response planning, governance and compliance activities, penetration testing coordination, cloud security assessments, and the delivery of security awareness initiatives. The role will require you to manage priorities, maintain accurate documentation, present findings confidently, and build trusted relationships with stakeholders at all levels. You will stay informed about emerging threats, regulatory developments, industry standards, and best practice to ensure advice remains relevant and effective.
Applicants should have demonstrable experience in cyber security consulting, information security, risk management, or a closely related discipline. Strong knowledge of recognised frameworks and standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, CIS Controls, or equivalent is desirable, along with an understanding of secure cloud services, identity and access management, network security, data protection, and vulnerability management. Relevant professional certifications, such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, ISO 27001, or equivalent, would be advantageous. Excellent analytical, communication, and report-writing skills are essential, as is the ability to explain complex security matters clearly and provide commercially practical advice. A proactive approach, sound judgement, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to confidentiality are also required. Some travel or flexible working may be necessary depending on client and project requirements.
