Cyber Security Governance Manager (Part Time)

We are seeking an experienced Cyber Security Governance Manager to provide strategic oversight and practical guidance across the organisation’s information security governance framework. This part-time role will help ensure that cyber security policies, standards, controls and processes remain effective, proportionate and aligned with regulatory obligations, recognised industry frameworks and organisational objectives.

Key responsibilities will include maintaining and continually improving the cyber security governance framework; developing, reviewing and implementing security policies, procedures and standards; coordinating risk assessments and tracking remediation activity; monitoring compliance with relevant legislation, regulations and contractual requirements; and preparing clear reports, dashboards and recommendations for senior stakeholders and governance forums. You will support the management of security risks, exceptions and incidents from a governance perspective, contribute to audit and assurance activities, and help ensure that lessons learned are incorporated into future improvements. The role will also involve working closely with technology, risk, compliance, data protection and operational teams to promote consistent security practices and strengthen organisational resilience.

The successful candidate will have substantial experience in cyber security governance, information security, risk management, compliance or a closely related discipline. You should have a strong understanding of frameworks and standards such as ISO 27001, NIST or CIS, together with experience translating technical and regulatory requirements into practical policies, controls and actions. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills are essential, as is the ability to explain complex security matters clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. You will be organised, analytical and comfortable working independently, prioritising competing demands and influencing positive change in a part-time capacity. Relevant professional qualifications, such as CISM, CISSP, CRISC, ISO 27001 Lead Implementer or Lead Auditor, would be advantageous.
