We are seeking a Product Security Engineer to help build secure, resilient products from the earliest stages of design through to release and ongoing improvement. Working across engineering, architecture, infrastructure and product teams, you will provide practical security guidance and help embed effective security practices throughout the software development lifecycle. This is an opportunity to influence technical direction, reduce risk and support the delivery of products that customers can trust. The role can be based in Cambridge, Leeds or London, with flexible hybrid working arrangements.

Your responsibilities will include conducting threat modelling and security reviews, identifying vulnerabilities and assessing their potential impact, and recommending proportionate mitigations. You will support secure design and coding practices, contribute to security standards and patterns, and help teams adopt appropriate controls without creating unnecessary barriers to delivery. You will also assist with vulnerability management, security testing, incident investigation and remediation tracking, while working with developers to improve security tooling, automation and feedback within CI/CD pipelines. You will help maintain clear technical documentation and contribute to security awareness activities, internal guidance and continuous improvement initiatives.

We are looking for experience in product or application security, software engineering, DevSecOps or a closely related discipline. You should understand common web and application security risks, secure development principles, authentication and authorisation, cloud environments, APIs and modern delivery practices. Familiarity with threat modelling methodologies, vulnerability assessment tools, code analysis, container security or infrastructure as code would be beneficial. Strong communication skills are essential, as you will need to explain complex issues clearly and collaborate with colleagues at all levels. We value curiosity, sound judgement and a pragmatic approach to risk, along with the ability to work independently while contributing positively to a supportive team. Relevant professional certifications or demonstrable equivalent experience are welcome but not essential.
