Cyber Essentials Plus Assessor (IASME licensed, UK)
We are seeking a Cyber Essentials Plus Assessor (IASME licensed, UK) to deliver high-quality technical assessments for organisations working towards, or maintaining, Cyber Essentials Plus certification. This role will involve assessing clients against the Cyber Essentials requirements, validating their technical controls, and providing clear, practical guidance to support ongoing improvement. The successful candidate will work with a varied client base across different sectors and organisation sizes, requiring a professional, consultative, and adaptable approach.
Responsibilities will include planning and conducting remote and, where required, on-site assessments; reviewing policies, procedures, network configurations, user devices, cloud services, access controls, malware protection, software updates, and secure configuration practices; gathering and validating assessment evidence; identifying vulnerabilities or areas of non-compliance; and preparing accurate assessment reports. You will communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, explain remediation requirements, respond to client queries, and ensure assessments are completed in line with current Cyber Essentials Plus and IASME requirements. You may also contribute to internal quality assurance, process improvement, assessor knowledge sharing, and the development of client-facing security guidance.
Applicants should hold current IASME Cyber Essentials Plus assessor licensing or be able to obtain and maintain it, with demonstrable experience in cybersecurity assessment, IT auditing, infrastructure security, or a related discipline. Strong knowledge of the Cyber Essentials technical requirements and UK data protection and security practices is essential. Experience with Microsoft 365, Windows and macOS environments, endpoint security, firewalls, vulnerability management, mobile devices, cloud platforms, and identity and access management would be advantageous. You will need excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong attention to detail, sound professional judgement, and the ability to manage competing assessments independently. A commitment to confidentiality, continuous professional development, and consistently high standards of client service is required. The role may involve UK travel, depending on client requirements.
