Chief Information & Security Officer (CISO)
We are seeking an experienced Chief Information & Security Officer (CISO) to lead the strategic direction of information technology, cyber security and information governance. This is a senior leadership position responsible for ensuring that technology and security capabilities support organisational objectives, enable innovation and protect critical information, systems and services.
The successful candidate will develop and deliver an integrated technology and security strategy, oversee enterprise architecture and technology operations, and establish a resilient, scalable and secure digital environment. You will provide clear advice to senior stakeholders and the board, translating complex technical and security matters into practical business decisions.
Key responsibilities will include setting the cyber security strategy; maintaining effective risk management, governance and assurance frameworks; and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, standards and contractual obligations. You will lead the identification and mitigation of information and technology risks, oversee incident response and business continuity arrangements, and ensure that appropriate disaster recovery capabilities are in place and regularly tested.
You will build strong relationships across the organisation, promote a culture of security awareness and accountability, and work collaboratively with operational, commercial and specialist teams. The role will also involve managing strategic suppliers, budgets and technology investment, as well as monitoring performance through meaningful metrics and reporting.
Applicants should have substantial experience in senior technology and information security leadership, ideally within a complex or highly regulated environment. You will bring a strong understanding of cyber security principles, enterprise risk, data protection, cloud technologies, identity and access management, and security frameworks such as ISO 27001 or the NIST Cybersecurity Framework.
Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills are essential, together with the ability to lead change, develop high-performing teams and make sound decisions under pressure. Relevant professional qualifications in information security, technology, risk or governance are desirable. Above all, you will be a credible, pragmatic and forward-thinking leader committed to protecting information while enabling effective, modern services.
