An opportunity has arisen for a Cyber Services Advisor to support the delivery, development and continuous improvement of cyber security services across a complex digital environment. This role will provide trusted advice to stakeholders, helping to identify cyber risks, strengthen security controls and ensure that services are delivered in line with relevant policies, standards and regulatory requirements.

You will work closely with technical teams, service owners, suppliers and business representatives to understand security needs and translate them into practical, proportionate solutions. Responsibilities will include advising on security requirements throughout the service lifecycle, reviewing designs and changes, supporting risk assessments, and contributing to the development of security patterns, guidance and operating procedures.

The successful candidate will help monitor service performance and security posture, investigate emerging issues, and coordinate appropriate actions with specialist teams. You may also contribute to incident management, vulnerability remediation, assurance activities, audits and reporting. Building effective relationships will be central to the role, as will the ability to communicate complex cyber security matters clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Applicants should have experience in a cyber security, information assurance, technology risk or related advisory role. You will need a sound understanding of security principles, risk management, identity and access management, vulnerability management, incident response and secure service delivery. Familiarity with recognised frameworks and standards, such as ISO 27001, the NIST Cybersecurity Framework or the Cyber Assessment Framework, would be advantageous.

We are looking for someone who is analytical, pragmatic and able to prioritise competing demands. You should be confident working independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team, with strong written and verbal communication skills. Relevant professional qualifications or certifications, such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC or equivalent practical experience, are desirable. A commitment to continual learning and improving cyber resilience is essential.
