An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Security Assurance Architect to support the delivery of secure, resilient and compliant technology solutions from an on-site location in Hampshire. This role will suit an experienced security professional who can translate complex technical and business requirements into practical security architectures, assurance strategies and risk-based decisions.

You will work closely with engineering, infrastructure, delivery and governance teams to ensure that security is embedded throughout the system development lifecycle. Responsibilities will include defining security requirements, reviewing solution designs, identifying threats and vulnerabilities, and providing clear recommendations to support informed risk acceptance and remediation.

The successful candidate will develop and maintain security assurance documentation, including security cases, risk assessments, control frameworks, architectural principles and compliance evidence. You will contribute to security reviews, design authorities, accreditation or authorisation activities, audit preparation and continuous improvement initiatives. The role will also involve engaging with stakeholders and suppliers, challenging assumptions constructively, and communicating technical security matters to both specialist and non-specialist audiences.

Applicants should have proven experience in security architecture, information assurance, cyber risk management or a closely related discipline. You will need a strong understanding of secure-by-design principles, threat modelling, security controls and governance frameworks. Knowledge of standards and best practice such as ISO 27001, NIST, Cyber Essentials, secure development methodologies and relevant UK government or defence security guidance would be advantageous.

Strong analytical, organisational and communication skills are essential, together with the confidence to work independently and influence decisions across multiple teams. Professional qualifications such as CISSP, CISM, SABSA, CHECK or equivalent experience would be welcomed. Due to the nature of the work, candidates must be willing and able to work securely on site in Hampshire and may be required to undergo appropriate security clearance and background checks.
