Software Development Engineer, Juneau, Next-Gen Security Automation
We are seeking a Software Development Engineer to help build the next generation of security automation solutions. In this role, you will design, develop and operate reliable software that enables security teams to identify risks, respond to threats and protect critical systems at scale. You will work on challenging technical problems where software engineering, cloud technologies and cybersecurity intersect.
You will collaborate with engineers, security specialists, product managers and other stakeholders to understand requirements and turn them into well-designed, maintainable solutions. Your responsibilities will include developing services and automation workflows, creating secure and scalable APIs, improving system performance and reliability, and contributing to technical design decisions. You will also investigate operational issues, diagnose defects and implement effective, long-term fixes.
The successful candidate will have professional experience in software development and a strong understanding of core engineering principles, including data structures, algorithms, testing, version control and object-oriented or functional design. Experience with one or more modern programming languages, such as Python, Java, Go or C++, is expected. You should also be comfortable working with distributed systems, cloud platforms, databases and continuous integration and deployment practices.
Experience in security engineering, threat detection, incident response, identity management or security automation would be advantageous. We are particularly interested in people who enjoy simplifying complex processes, automating repetitive work and building tools that are secure by design. An understanding of secure coding practices and common application or infrastructure security risks would be beneficial.
