AVP PAM Engineer
We are seeking an experienced AVP PAM Engineer to support the design, implementation and ongoing operation of a robust Privileged Access Management (PAM) capability. This is a senior technical role for someone who can combine hands-on engineering expertise with strong security awareness and the ability to work effectively across infrastructure, applications, risk and compliance teams.
You will be responsible for administering, configuring and enhancing PAM technologies, including privileged account discovery, onboarding, vaulting, password rotation, session management and just-in-time access. You will develop and maintain secure access policies, integrate PAM services with directory platforms and enterprise applications, and ensure privileged credentials are protected throughout their lifecycle. The role will also involve monitoring platform performance, investigating incidents, resolving technical issues and supporting service improvements.
A key part of the position will be contributing to the development of engineering standards, operating procedures and automation. You will help identify opportunities to reduce manual processes, improve user experience and strengthen controls. You will also support audits, evidence requests, risk assessments and remediation activity, ensuring that privileged access remains aligned with internal security policies and relevant regulatory expectations.
The successful candidate will have substantial experience in PAM engineering or a closely related identity and access management role, with strong knowledge of platforms such as CyberArk, BeyondTrust or equivalent technologies. You should understand privileged account governance, authentication protocols, directory services, secrets management, scripting and security monitoring. Experience integrating PAM solutions with cloud environments, DevOps tooling and service management platforms would be advantageous.
Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder-management skills are essential. You will be comfortable working independently, managing competing priorities and explaining technical risks to both specialist and non-specialist audiences. Relevant professional qualifications in cyber security, identity management or infrastructure engineering are desirable, alongside a demonstrable commitment to secure-by-design principles and continuous improvement.
