Director, Security Operations Enablement

We are seeking a Director, Security Operations Enablement to lead the strategy, development and continuous improvement of the capabilities that support effective security operations. This role will strengthen the operating model across people, process and technology, ensuring security teams can respond to threats efficiently, consistently and at scale. You will work closely with security leadership, technology teams, risk specialists and business stakeholders to translate strategic priorities into practical, measurable enablement programmes.

Key responsibilities include defining and executing a security operations enablement roadmap; establishing standards, processes and governance for operational readiness; and improving incident response, threat detection, vulnerability management, monitoring and security engineering practices. You will identify capability gaps, prioritise investment and oversee initiatives that enhance tooling, automation, workflow integration, reporting and service quality. The role will also lead the development of training, career frameworks, knowledge management and performance metrics, while promoting a culture of continuous learning and operational excellence. You will support major security incidents and transformation programmes as required, ensuring lessons learned are embedded into future processes and controls.

The successful candidate will bring significant leadership experience in security operations, cyber defence, security engineering or a related discipline, ideally within a complex, highly regulated or geographically distributed environment. You will have a strong understanding of security operations centres, incident management, threat intelligence, detection and response, automation and security service management. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills are essential, together with the ability to influence senior audiences, manage competing priorities and deliver change through diverse teams. Experience leading large-scale transformation, implementing operational frameworks and measuring security outcomes is highly desirable. Relevant professional certifications or equivalent practical experience will be valued.
