Security Cyber Risk & Compliance Specialist

We are seeking a Security Cyber Risk & Compliance Specialist to support the development, implementation and continuous improvement of cyber security risk and compliance activities. This role will help strengthen the organisation’s security posture by identifying technology and information security risks, assessing their potential impact, and coordinating appropriate mitigation activities across business and technical teams.

Key responsibilities will include maintaining cyber risk registers, conducting risk assessments, reviewing security controls, and monitoring remediation plans through to completion. You will support compliance with relevant legislation, regulatory obligations, industry standards and internal policies, while contributing to audits, assurance reviews and evidence collection. The role will also involve helping to develop and maintain security policies, standards, procedures and control frameworks; preparing risk and compliance reports for stakeholders; and providing practical guidance on security requirements to project, operational and delivery teams.

The successful candidate will have experience in cyber security risk management, governance, compliance, audit or information assurance, ideally within a complex environment. You will have a sound understanding of frameworks and standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, CIS Controls or similar, together with knowledge of risk assessment methodologies, control testing and regulatory expectations. Strong analytical, communication and organisational skills are essential, as is the ability to translate technical risks into clear business impacts and recommendations. Relevant professional qualifications, such as CISM, CISSP, CRISC, ISO 27001 or equivalent experience, would be advantageous. You should be collaborative, detail-oriented and confident working with stakeholders at all levels while managing multiple priorities in a changing environment.
