We are seeking a Site Reliability Engineer with an active or recently held Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance to support the availability, resilience and continual improvement of critical digital services. You will work across engineering, operations, security and delivery teams to build reliable platforms, automate operational processes and ensure systems remain secure, scalable and performant. This role is suited to someone who enjoys solving complex technical problems, improving engineering practices and taking ownership of services throughout their lifecycle.

Your responsibilities will include designing, implementing and maintaining highly available infrastructure and deployment pipelines; developing automation and infrastructure-as-code; and monitoring system health, capacity, performance and security. You will contribute to incident, problem and change management, leading or supporting investigations into service disruptions and producing clear post-incident reviews. You will also help define service-level objectives, strengthen observability, improve disaster recovery and resilience, and identify opportunities to reduce operational toil. Collaboration with developers and technical stakeholders will be essential to promote secure, reliable and repeatable delivery practices.

Applicants should have demonstrable experience in site reliability, DevOps, platform engineering or a closely related role, together with strong knowledge of cloud or enterprise infrastructure environments. Practical experience with Linux, scripting or programming, CI/CD, containerisation, orchestration technologies and infrastructure-as-code is expected. You should be comfortable working with monitoring, logging and alerting tools, and understand networking, identity, security controls and automated testing. Excellent analytical, communication and documentation skills are required, along with the ability to work calmly during incidents and prioritise effectively in a changing environment. An active DV clearance, or the ability to obtain and maintain one, is essential.
