We are seeking a Software Developer with an active or recently held Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance to design, develop, test and maintain secure software solutions. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, contributing throughout the full software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis and technical design through to implementation, integration, deployment and support. The role will involve developing robust, maintainable and scalable applications that meet demanding security, performance and availability requirements.

Your responsibilities will include translating user and business needs into effective technical solutions, producing clean and well-documented code, investigating and resolving defects, and supporting continuous improvement of development processes. You will participate in code reviews, technical discussions, automated testing and integration activities, while working closely with analysts, testers, architects and operational colleagues. You will also contribute to technical documentation, risk assessment and the adoption of appropriate development standards, tools and methodologies.

Applicants should have professional experience in software development and a strong understanding of programming principles, object-oriented design, version control and software testing. Experience with one or more modern languages such as Java, C#, Python, C++ or JavaScript/TypeScript is desirable, along with familiarity with APIs, databases, build pipelines and Agile delivery practices. Knowledge of secure coding, DevSecOps, cloud technologies, containerisation or continuous integration and deployment would be advantageous. Strong problem-solving, communication and collaboration skills are essential, as is the ability to work responsibly with sensitive information. A current or transferable DV security clearance is required, and candidates must be willing to meet any ongoing clearance and security obligations associated with the role.
