We are seeking an experienced SOC Manager to lead and develop a security operations function responsible for protecting critical systems, applications, data and users. The successful candidate will provide strategic direction while remaining engaged with the operational delivery of threat monitoring, detection, investigation and response. This role will oversee a team of security analysts and coordinate closely with infrastructure, engineering, risk, compliance and incident management stakeholders to strengthen the organisation’s overall security posture.

Key responsibilities include managing day-to-day SOC operations, establishing effective workflows and escalation procedures, and ensuring timely response to security alerts and incidents. You will develop and maintain detection use cases, monitoring standards, playbooks and operational metrics, while driving continuous improvement through lessons learned, threat intelligence and security analytics. The role will also involve managing relationships with external security service providers, overseeing tooling and platform performance, supporting vulnerability and exposure management activities, and contributing to security incident exercises and business continuity planning. You will ensure that operational processes align with relevant policies, regulatory expectations and recognised security frameworks.

Applicants should have substantial experience in a security operations, incident response or cyber defence leadership role, with a strong understanding of SIEM, SOAR, EDR, network monitoring and threat intelligence technologies. Experience leading, coaching and developing SOC or security engineering teams is essential, along with the ability to prioritise competing demands and communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences. Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, GCIA, GCIH or equivalent are desirable. The ideal candidate will be analytical, decisive and collaborative, with a practical approach to risk management and a demonstrable record of improving detection capability, response times and operational resilience.
