Cyber Security Manager

We are seeking an experienced Cyber Security Manager to lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of an organisation-wide security programme. The successful candidate will provide strategic direction while remaining closely engaged with operational security activities, ensuring that systems, applications, data and infrastructure are protected against evolving threats. You will work with technology, risk, compliance and business stakeholders to strengthen security maturity and promote a culture of secure working.

Responsibilities will include managing security policies, standards, procedures and control frameworks; overseeing vulnerability management, security monitoring, incident response and threat management; and coordinating investigations, containment and recovery activities when security incidents occur. You will assess cyber risks, maintain risk registers and treatment plans, and provide clear reports, metrics and recommendations to senior leadership. The role will also involve supporting security architecture and design reviews, managing penetration testing and assurance activities, and contributing to business continuity and disaster recovery planning.

You will have substantial experience in cyber security management, information security or a closely related discipline, with a strong understanding of security governance, risk management, data protection and recognised industry frameworks such as ISO 27001 or NIST. Experience leading incident response, security operations, third-party risk assessments and security improvement programmes is highly desirable. Relevant professional certifications, such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC or equivalent, would be advantageous. Strong communication, influencing and problem-solving skills are essential, along with the ability to explain complex technical risks clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. A proactive, collaborative approach and a commitment to continuous improvement will be key to success in this role.
