Software Engineer - Mobile Security

We are seeking a Software Engineer - Mobile Security to design, build and improve secure mobile applications and security-focused platform components. You will work across the software development lifecycle, from technical discovery and architecture through implementation, testing, release and ongoing maintenance. The role will involve developing robust solutions for iOS and/or Android, identifying potential vulnerabilities, and helping ensure that mobile products protect user data and withstand evolving security threats.

Your responsibilities will include implementing secure coding practices, reviewing application designs, conducting code and threat assessments, and collaborating with engineering teams to remediate security issues. You will contribute to authentication, authorisation, encryption, key management, secure storage, certificate and network security, application hardening, and runtime protection. You will also help establish automated security testing within CI/CD pipelines, investigate incidents or vulnerabilities, document technical findings, and promote practical security standards through guidance, tooling and knowledge sharing.

Applicants should have professional experience in software engineering, mobile application development, or mobile security, with strong proficiency in at least one relevant language such as Swift, Kotlin, Java, Objective-C, or C++. Experience developing and securing native mobile applications, understanding mobile operating system architectures, and using common security testing and analysis tools is highly desirable. You should be comfortable with secure API integration, cryptography fundamentals, threat modelling, debugging, version control and automated testing. Strong problem-solving, communication and collaboration skills are essential, along with the ability to explain complex security risks clearly and balance protection with usability and performance. Relevant experience with penetration testing, reverse engineering, mobile application protection frameworks, cloud services, or recognised security standards would be advantageous.
