We are seeking a Senior Cyber Security Consultant (Security Operation & Vulnerability Management) to lead and strengthen security operations across a complex technology environment. This role will provide expert guidance on the identification, assessment and remediation of cyber security risks, while helping to improve the organisation’s overall security maturity. You will work closely with technology, infrastructure, application and risk teams to ensure vulnerabilities are understood, prioritised and addressed in line with business impact.

Key responsibilities will include overseeing vulnerability management activities, reviewing scanning results, validating findings and coordinating remediation plans with relevant stakeholders. You will monitor and investigate security events, support incident response and contribute to the development of operational security procedures, playbooks and reporting. The role will also involve conducting risk assessments, advising on security controls, supporting threat-led improvements and producing clear management information on vulnerabilities, incidents, trends and outstanding actions. You may be required to support security tooling reviews, control testing, audit activity and the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.

The successful candidate will have substantial experience in cyber security operations, vulnerability management or a closely related consultancy role, with a strong understanding of security monitoring, incident handling, vulnerability assessment methodologies and risk-based remediation. Experience with SIEM, EDR, vulnerability scanning and security reporting tools is highly desirable, alongside knowledge of recognised frameworks and standards such as ISO 27001, NIST or CIS Controls. Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills are essential, as is the ability to explain technical risks clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. Relevant professional certifications, such as CISSP, CISM, Security+ or vendor-specific security qualifications, would be advantageous.
