Cyber Security Specialist - Vulnerability Management
Are you passionate about identifying and addressing security vulnerabilities before they become threats? As a Cyber Security Specialist focusing on Vulnerability Management, you will play a critical role in safeguarding digital assets and infrastructure. In this role, you will be responsible for performing vulnerability assessments, managing scanning tools, analyzing results, and working collaboratively with technical teams to ensure timely remediation of findings. You will monitor and evaluate new and emerging vulnerabilities across a diverse technology landscape, providing expert guidance to stakeholders on best practices and mitigation strategies.
Your day-to-day duties will include conducting regular vulnerability scans, maintaining up-to-date records of discovered vulnerabilities, and prioritizing remediation efforts based on risk assessment. You will coordinate with IT, network, and application teams to track progress on remediation activities, ensuring compliance with internal and external security requirements. Additionally, you will contribute to the development and refinement of vulnerability management processes, support incident response efforts as they relate to exploitation of vulnerabilities, and produce detailed reports for both technical and executive audiences. Staying current with threat intelligence sources and industry trends will be key to effectively anticipating and addressing potential risks.
The ideal candidate will have experience with vulnerability management tools (such as Qualys, Nessus, or Rapid7), a solid understanding of common security vulnerabilities (OWASP Top 10, CVEs), and proficiency in interpreting and communicating technical findings. Familiarity with security frameworks (such as NIST, ISO 27001) and regulatory requirements is highly desirable. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team. Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or Security+ are advantageous. If you are detail-oriented, proactive, and committed to reducing cyber risk, this is an excellent opportunity to advance your career in cybersecurity.
