Junior Cyber Security Consultant
We are seeking a motivated Junior Cyber Security Consultant to join a growing security team and support clients in strengthening their cyber resilience. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional to develop practical experience across security assessments, risk management, compliance, and incident response while working alongside experienced consultants. You will contribute to a range of engagements across different sectors, gaining exposure to varied technologies, business environments, and security challenges.
Your responsibilities will include assisting with cyber security assessments, identifying vulnerabilities and control weaknesses, and helping to develop clear, practical recommendations. You will support the preparation of reports, risk registers, policies, procedures, and client presentations, ensuring that technical findings can be understood by both technical and non-technical audiences. You may also assist with governance, risk, and compliance activities, security awareness initiatives, audit preparation, incident investigations, and the review of client security controls against recognised standards and regulatory requirements. The role will involve maintaining accurate project records, managing agreed tasks and deadlines, and contributing positively to internal knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
We are looking for someone with a genuine interest in cyber security and a willingness to learn. A degree, apprenticeship, or relevant qualification in cyber security, information technology, computer science, or a related subject is desirable, alongside an understanding of fundamental security concepts such as risk, vulnerability management, access control, networks, and data protection. Any practical experience through employment, study, placements, personal projects, or relevant certifications will be valued. Strong written and verbal communication skills, analytical thinking, attention to detail, and a professional approach are essential. You should be comfortable working collaboratively, managing competing priorities, asking questions, and engaging confidently with colleagues and clients. Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Microsoft security credentials, or equivalent qualifications would be advantageous, but full training and development support will be provided for the right candidate.
