Cyber Security Manager

We are seeking an experienced Cyber Security Manager to lead and strengthen the organisation’s information security capability. This role will be responsible for developing and implementing a practical security strategy that protects systems, data, applications and services against evolving cyber threats. You will provide expert guidance to senior stakeholders, promote a strong security culture and ensure that security controls support business objectives while meeting relevant legal, regulatory and industry requirements.

Key responsibilities will include managing the cyber security function, maintaining security policies and standards, and overseeing risk assessment, vulnerability management and security assurance activities. You will coordinate the response to security incidents, ensuring that events are investigated, contained, documented and followed by effective remediation. The role will also oversee security monitoring, penetration testing, access management, third-party risk and business continuity arrangements. You will work closely with technology, audit, compliance and operational teams to identify risks, agree appropriate controls and track improvement plans through to completion. Regular reporting on security performance, key risks, incidents and compliance will be required.

The successful candidate will have substantial experience in cyber security, information security or a closely related discipline, including experience managing security risks and responding to incidents. You should have a strong understanding of security frameworks, data protection principles, identity and access management, network security, cloud environments and secure system development. Experience of leading teams, suppliers or specialist advisers, together with the ability to communicate complex technical issues clearly to non-technical audiences, is essential. Professional qualifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC or equivalent experience would be advantageous. A proactive, analytical and collaborative approach is required, along with sound judgement, strong organisational skills and a commitment to continuous improvement.
