SOC Manager
An experienced SOC Manager is required to lead and develop a high-performing Security Operations Centre within a complex and continually evolving environment. This is a key leadership position, responsible for ensuring the effective detection, investigation and response to cyber security threats while maintaining a strong focus on service quality, operational resilience and continuous improvement.
You will manage day-to-day SOC operations, overseeing security monitoring, incident response, threat hunting, vulnerability management and the effective use of security information and event management technologies. You will establish and maintain robust processes, playbooks and escalation procedures, ensuring that incidents are assessed and resolved promptly in line with agreed service levels. The role will also involve reviewing security events, identifying trends and providing clear, accurate reporting to senior stakeholders.
Leading and developing a team of security analysts, you will set objectives, support professional development and promote a collaborative, accountable culture. You will work closely with infrastructure, technology, risk and compliance teams to strengthen defensive capabilities, improve controls and coordinate responses to significant incidents. You will also contribute to security strategy, operational planning, audit activity and the selection or implementation of relevant tools and services.
The successful candidate will have proven experience managing a SOC or comparable cyber security operations function, together with strong knowledge of incident management, threat intelligence, SIEM platforms, endpoint protection and network security. Experience of security frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST or CIS is desirable, as is an understanding of relevant regulatory and data protection requirements. Professional qualifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC or equivalent experience would be advantageous.
You will be a confident people leader and communicator, able to translate technical risks into practical recommendations for a range of audiences. A structured approach, sound judgement and the ability to remain calm under pressure are essential. This role offers the opportunity to shape operational security capability, lead meaningful improvements and make a significant contribution to organisational resilience.
