Cyber Security Manager

We are seeking an experienced Cyber Security Manager to lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of an organisation-wide cyber security programme. This role will provide strategic direction and operational oversight across security governance, risk management, incident response, vulnerability management, identity and access management, security monitoring and regulatory compliance. You will work closely with technology, information governance, risk, audit and business teams to ensure that security is embedded into projects, services and day-to-day operations.

Key responsibilities will include maintaining cyber security policies, standards and procedures; leading security risk assessments and treatment plans; overseeing the response to security incidents and coordinating lessons learned; managing vulnerability identification, prioritisation and remediation; and monitoring the effectiveness of technical and procedural controls. You will support secure architecture and change decisions, contribute to business continuity and disaster recovery planning, and provide clear reports, assurance updates and recommendations to senior stakeholders. The role will also involve managing external suppliers, supporting audits and assessments, and promoting a strong culture of security awareness through training and communications.

Applicants should have significant experience in cyber security, information security or a closely related discipline, including experience managing security risks, incidents and improvement programmes. A strong understanding of recognised security frameworks, data protection requirements, threat management principles and security technologies is essential. Professional qualifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, ISO 27001 or equivalent are desirable. You will be an effective communicator who can explain complex risks to both technical and non-technical audiences, influence stakeholders at all levels and make sound decisions under pressure. Strong organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills, together with a proactive and collaborative approach, are required.
