We are seeking a Staff Software Security Engineer to provide technical leadership across the software development lifecycle and help build secure, resilient products at scale. You will work closely with software engineers, architects, product managers, and infrastructure teams to embed security into design, development, testing, deployment, and operations. The role combines hands-on engineering with strategic influence, enabling teams to identify and address security risks early while maintaining an efficient developer experience.

Your responsibilities will include defining secure coding standards, threat modelling new and existing systems, reviewing architecture and design decisions, and developing security libraries, tooling, automation, and reference implementations. You will lead investigations into complex vulnerabilities, support incident response, and contribute to vulnerability management and remediation programmes. You will also help improve application security testing, including static and dynamic analysis, dependency management, secrets detection, supply-chain security, and security monitoring. As a senior technical contributor, you will mentor engineers, facilitate security reviews, communicate risk clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders, and help shape security strategy, policies, and engineering practices.

You should have substantial experience in software engineering and application or product security, with a strong understanding of secure development principles, modern authentication and authorisation methods, cloud environments, APIs, and common web and software vulnerabilities. Experience designing or securing distributed systems, CI/CD pipelines, developer platforms, or open-source dependencies is highly valuable. We are looking for someone who can write production-quality code, analyse complex technical problems, and translate security requirements into practical solutions. Strong communication, collaboration, judgement, and the ability to influence without relying on formal authority are essential. Relevant experience with security frameworks, penetration testing, security automation, or professional certifications is welcomed but not required.
