We are seeking an experienced SOC Lead to oversee the day-to-day operation, development and continuous improvement of a Security Operations Centre. This role will provide technical leadership to security analysts, coordinate incident response activity and help strengthen the organisation’s ability to detect, investigate and respond to cyber threats. You will act as a senior escalation point for complex security events, ensuring that incidents are assessed, contained and resolved in line with established procedures and service expectations.

Key responsibilities will include leading and mentoring a team of SOC analysts; managing security monitoring, alert triage and incident investigation; reviewing and improving detection rules, use cases and playbooks; and coordinating responses across infrastructure, engineering, risk and business teams. You will oversee the effective use of SIEM, SOAR, endpoint detection and response, vulnerability management and threat intelligence technologies. The role will also involve monitoring operational metrics, preparing management reports, supporting security exercises, contributing to threat-hunting activities and ensuring that lessons learned from incidents are translated into measurable improvements. You will help maintain policies, procedures and documentation, while promoting consistent adherence to security standards and regulatory requirements.

The successful candidate will have substantial experience in a SOC, cyber defence or incident response environment, including experience leading or supervising security teams. You will possess strong knowledge of security monitoring, incident handling, attack techniques, log analysis, vulnerability management and threat intelligence, together with hands-on experience using SIEM and related security tools. Relevant professional certifications in cybersecurity, such as CISSP, CISM, GIAC or equivalent, are desirable. Excellent communication, analytical and decision-making skills are essential, as is the ability to remain calm under pressure and explain technical issues clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. A proactive approach, strong coaching ability and commitment to continuous improvement will be highly valued.
