We are seeking an experienced SOC Team Lead to oversee the day-to-day operation of a security operations function and help protect critical systems, applications, and data. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership to security analysts, coordinate monitoring and incident response activities, and ensure that security events are investigated, documented, and resolved efficiently. This role requires a strong understanding of modern cyber threats, excellent decision-making skills, and the ability to remain calm and effective during high-pressure incidents.
Key responsibilities include leading and mentoring a team of SOC analysts; managing alert triage, threat detection, incident investigation, and escalation processes; reviewing and improving security monitoring use cases, playbooks, and procedures; and coordinating the response to suspected or confirmed security incidents. You will monitor operational performance against agreed service levels, produce clear reports and metrics for senior stakeholders, and support post-incident reviews to identify lessons learned. The role will also involve collaborating with infrastructure, cloud, application, risk, and compliance teams to strengthen security controls and improve overall resilience. You may contribute to vulnerability management, threat hunting, security tooling evaluations, and the development of automation to increase team efficiency.
Applicants should have substantial experience in a SOC, cyber defence, or incident response environment, including previous responsibility for guiding or supervising security professionals. Strong knowledge of SIEM, EDR, network monitoring, vulnerability management, and incident response methodologies is required. Experience with cloud security, threat intelligence, forensic investigation, and relevant security frameworks such as NIST or ISO 27001 would be advantageous. Industry-recognised certifications in cybersecurity are desirable. You should be an effective communicator with strong analytical and organisational skills, capable of translating technical risks into clear business language. A proactive approach, commitment to continuous improvement, and willingness to participate in an out-of-hours escalation or on-call rota are also expected.
