SOC Supervisor

We are seeking an experienced SOC Supervisor to lead the day-to-day operation of a security operations centre and support the delivery of effective, timely, and consistent security monitoring services. The successful candidate will supervise a team of security analysts, coordinate shift activities, and ensure that alerts, incidents, and investigations are managed in line with established procedures and service levels. This role will act as a key point of escalation for complex or high-priority events, providing clear direction and sound judgement in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities will include allocating workloads, monitoring team performance, reviewing incident investigations, and ensuring accurate and comprehensive documentation. You will oversee the identification, triage, analysis, and escalation of security events, helping to maintain effective communication with relevant technical and business stakeholders. The role will also contribute to the development and improvement of operational procedures, playbooks, use cases, reporting, and key performance indicators. You will support quality assurance activities, identify skills or process gaps, and provide coaching, mentoring, and constructive feedback to analysts. Participation in an out-of-hours rota may be required.

Applicants should have proven experience in a security operations, incident response, or cyber defence environment, including experience supervising or coordinating an operational team. You will have a strong understanding of security monitoring principles, incident management, threat detection, vulnerability concepts, and common attack techniques. Familiarity with SIEM, EDR, ticketing, SOAR, and threat intelligence platforms is desirable, together with the ability to interpret logs and investigate suspicious activity. Relevant professional qualifications or certifications in cybersecurity are advantageous. Strong communication, organisation, decision-making, and leadership skills are essential, as is the ability to remain calm under pressure, manage competing priorities, and work collaboratively across technical teams.
