We are seeking a Security Engineer I to support cloud security incident response and help protect critical systems, applications, and data. In this entry-level role, you will monitor, investigate, and respond to suspected security events across cloud environments, working closely with experienced security professionals and technical teams. You will contribute to the full incident lifecycle, including alert triage, evidence collection, containment, eradication, recovery, and post-incident review.

Key responsibilities include analysing logs, alerts, and network or endpoint telemetry; investigating potential unauthorised access, malware, data exposure, and account compromise; documenting findings and maintaining accurate case records; and escalating incidents according to established procedures. You will help develop and improve incident response playbooks, detection rules, automation, and operational processes. The role also involves supporting vulnerability remediation, participating in threat-hunting activities, preparing incident reports, and communicating clear technical updates to relevant stakeholders. Occasional participation in an on-call rotation may be required.

The successful candidate will have foundational knowledge of information security principles, incident response practices, networking, identity and access management, and operating systems. Familiarity with cloud security concepts, security monitoring platforms, ticketing systems, scripting, and log-query languages is highly desirable. Experience with tools such as SIEM, EDR, vulnerability scanners, or cloud-native security services is an advantage. You should be analytical, methodical, and able to prioritise effectively in a fast-moving environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, curiosity, and a willingness to learn are essential. Relevant academic study, certifications, lab work, internships, or practical projects in cybersecurity will be considered alongside professional experience.
