Senior Software Engineer, Customer Data Protection

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Customer Data Protection to help design and build secure, reliable systems that safeguard sensitive customer information. In this role, you will contribute to the development of privacy-focused platforms, services, and engineering practices across the software lifecycle. You will work closely with engineers, product managers, security specialists, privacy professionals, and other stakeholders to understand requirements, assess risks, and deliver solutions that protect data by design.

Your responsibilities will include designing, implementing, testing, and maintaining scalable services that support data protection, access control, retention, deletion, consent, and compliance requirements. You will provide technical leadership on complex projects, help establish engineering standards, review designs and code, and identify opportunities to improve system resilience, observability, automation, and operational efficiency. You will also investigate incidents and vulnerabilities, contribute to root-cause analysis, and ensure that corrective actions are delivered effectively. The ideal candidate has significant professional experience in software engineering and a strong understanding of distributed systems, APIs, databases, cloud infrastructure, and modern development practices. Experience building privacy, security, identity, compliance, or data governance solutions is highly desirable, as is familiarity with data protection principles and regulatory requirements. You should be comfortable working with ambiguity, communicating clearly with technical and non-technical audiences, and balancing customer needs with security and privacy considerations.
